The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued a fresh advisory urging all members to verify and update their bank account details in the EPFO database to ensure timely settlement of claims. This step is crucial for preventing transaction failures, claim rejections, and delays in receiving funds related to withdrawals, advances, and pension disbursements. Incomplete or incorrect bank information, including mismatched account numbers, IFSC codes, or inactive accounts, has been a leading cause of processing issues in recent months.
EPFO recommends that members log in to the Unified Member Portal using their Universal Account Number (UAN) and check their registered bank account details under the KYC section. If changes are required, members should promptly upload updated documents and request employer approval through the same portal. The registered account must be in the member’s name, linked with Aadhaar, and active with correct IFSC code for successful verification and fund transfers.
To improve transparency and reduce errors, EPFO has integrated real-time validation systems that match submitted bank details with official databases. Members are also encouraged to enable SMS alerts and regularly track claim status online or through the UMANG app. By proactively verifying banking information, employees can avoid disruptions and ensure hassle-free access to their retirement and social security benefits.
