The government has introduced a streamlined eKYC-based process for obtaining Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs), making it easier and faster for individuals and businesses to complete their digital compliance requirements. This simplified system leverages electronic identity verification using Aadhaar-linked credentials, eliminating the need for physical documents and in-person verification.
Under the new process, applicants can complete their identity verification through OTP-based authentication or biometric verification, significantly reducing the time taken to issue a DSC. The integration of eKYC ensures a more secure and efficient method for issuing legally valid digital signatures, which are essential for regulatory filings, tax submissions, and business transactions.
Officials say the new eKYC route will boost the adoption of DSCs by enhancing user convenience, reducing manual errors, and minimizing processing delays. As digital infrastructure expands across India, this reform is seen as a key step toward promoting seamless access to secure digital tools for citizens and enterprises alike.
