Applying for a PAN (Permanent Account Number) online in India is a simple and structured process facilitated through government-authorized platforms. Both Indian citizens and foreign nationals can apply online by filling out the appropriate form, submitting documents, and paying the prescribed fee.
• Choose the Correct PAN Application Portal
• Visit the official websites of either NSDL (now Protean)
• Both portals are authorized by the Income Tax Department to process PAN applications online.
• Select the option for a new PAN application (Form 49A for Indian citizens, Form 49AA for foreign citizens).
• Read the guidelines and instructions carefully before proceeding with the application.
• Fill the Online Application Form
• Complete the online PAN form with accurate personal details like full name, date of birth, and contact information.
• Choose the appropriate applicant type such as individual, company, trust, or HUF.
• Upload scanned copies of supporting documents as per the requirements mentioned.
• Select the mode of PAN delivery (physical card, e-PAN, or both).
