- The design must be shown without any descriptive or functional text.
Technical Specifications
- Drawings must be in A4 size paper with a clear margin.
- The image or representation should not exceed the defined margins.
- Ink used should be black with strong contrast and clarity.
- Line drawings or high-quality computer renderings are acceptable.
- Photographs are permitted only if they clearly show the design features.
Content Restrictions
- No explanatory text or dimensions should appear on the drawings.
- Backgrounds must be plain and free from distractions.
- Branding, logos, or identifiers must not be included.
- Drawings must not show mechanical parts unless they are part of the design.
- The focus must be on the visual appearance, not the function.
Representation Rules
- Each drawing must be numbered as a separate representation.
- Representations should be filed in duplicate along with the application.
- They must be affixed to the application form or uploaded digitally.
- The views should align with the article’s actual form and proportions.
- Consistency across all views is mandatory for clarity.
Submission and Compliance
- Drawings must be submitted with Form 1 during registration.
- Non-compliant drawings can result in rejection or delay.
- Amendments may be requested by the Controller for clarity.
- All representations become part of the public Design Register.
- It is advisable to seek expert drafting for complex designs.
