Employers must register new employees within 10 days of joining. Delay or non-registration may lead to penalty for non-compliance, and ESIC authorities can recover arrears with interest for the entire default period.

Legal Proceedings and Recovery

In case of persistent default, ESIC may initiate legal recovery proceedings, including attachment of property, freezing of bank accounts, and prosecution in the Employees’ Insurance Court or criminal court.
