The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is set to launch a dedicated compliance helpline aimed at assisting public limited companies with queries related to statutory obligations under the Companies Act, 2013. The new initiative, scheduled to go live in August 2025, will provide real-time support on a wide range of corporate compliance issues, including annual filings, board governance, CSR norms, director responsibilities, digital signatures, and the interpretation of recent regulatory amendments. The helpline will be available via toll-free number, email, and live chat, offering multilingual support across business hours.
The move comes in response to increased demand for clarity and guidance amidst a surge in regulatory updates affecting public companies, especially in areas like ESG reporting, board disclosures, and digital documentation. The helpline will be staffed by trained professionals, including company secretaries, chartered accountants, and legal experts, and will also connect users to relevant MCA circulars, FAQs, and real-time procedural checklists. The service aims to reduce compliance errors, improve accuracy in filings, and support smaller listed entities that may not have in-house legal or compliance teams.
To ensure accessibility and effectiveness, the MCA has announced that the helpline will be integrated with the MCA21 portal, allowing companies to track query resolutions, escalate complex issues, and access a knowledge base tailored to public limited companies. Feedback mechanisms will be embedded to improve service quality and identify recurring challenges across industries. The helpline is expected to significantly enhance regulatory ease and corporate responsiveness, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparent and accountable corporate governance in India’s public sector.
