Filing Fees

• The standard filing fee for individuals and natural persons is ₹1,000.

Renewal Fees

• The fee for renewing a design for an additional five years is ₹2,000 for individuals.
  
• Small entities and startups must pay ₹4,000 for renewal.
  
• Other applicants are required to pay ₹8,000 for renewal.
  
• The renewal must be requested before the expiry of the initial term.
  
• No late fee option is available after the lapse of the initial registration.
  

Other Applicable Fees

• ₹500 is charged for inspecting the registered design.
  
• ₹1,000 is payable for issuing a certified copy of the design certificate.
  
• ₹2,000 is required for restoring a lapsed design if eligible.
  
• Fees vary for entries of assignments or transmissions of rights.
  
• Separate charges apply for correcting clerical errors in the register.
  

Mode of Payment

• Fees can be paid via demand draft, banker’s cheque, or online portal.
  
• Payments must be made in Indian Rupees and drawn in favor of the Controller.
  
• Online applications require payment through the IP India e-filing system.
  
• Receipts must be retained as proof of successful fee submission.
  
• Incorrect or partial payment may lead to application rejection.
