How to receive TAN via email?

Accessing the Official TAN Portal

  • Visit the official TAN services website managed by Protean eGov Technologies
  • Use the link www.tin-nsdl.com to access TAN-related services
  • Navigate to the section for reprinting TAN allotment letter
  • This feature is available for deductors who already have a TAN
  • No login is required to access the reprint facility

Filling Required Information

  • Enter the 10-digit TAN or 14-digit acknowledgment number
  • Provide the deductor’s full name as per the original application
  • Enter the date of birth or date of incorporation for verification
  • Fill in the CAPTCHA code to proceed
  • Submit the form to retrieve the TAN allotment letter

Downloading the TAN Allotment Letter

  • The system displays the TAN allotment letter in PDF format
  • Download and save the letter to your computer or mobile device
  • The document contains your TAN and official approval details
  • It serves as valid proof of TAN registration
  • You can use this file for future TDS or TCS compliance

Sending the TAN via Email

  • Open your personal or business email account
  • Create a new email and attach the downloaded TAN PDF file
  • Enter your own email address in the recipient field
  • Optionally include a subject like TAN copy for records
  • Send the email to store a digital copy in your inbox

No Direct Email Dispatch by Department

  • The Income Tax Department does not send TAN letters automatically by email
  • You must manually download and email the document to yourself
  • Always verify the TAN through the official site before sharing
  • Keep the emailed copy for internal records and audits
  • Use strong passwords and secure email access to protect the file
