The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) has officially launched a new and improved portal dedicated to the tracking and verification of TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) applications. This development marks a major step forward in easing the tax compliance burden for businesses, government departments, and other tax deductors across India. The enhanced portal offers a user-friendly interface, real-time application status updates, and secure access to TAN allotment information, eliminating delays and reducing dependency on manual processes.

One of the key features of the new system is the integration with PAN databases and Aadhaar-based authentication, which allows applicants to verify their identity and application progress with greater accuracy and speed. Users can now check TAN application status instantly, download acknowledgment receipts, and receive email and SMS notifications at each stage of the application lifecycle. This is particularly beneficial for first-time applicants and organizations handling multiple TAN registrations across different jurisdictions.

The Income Tax Department has praised the initiative, stating that the portal will strengthen transparency, improve record accuracy, and enhance service delivery.
