To apply for a PAN card in India, applicants must provide specific supporting documents for verification. These documents vary based on applicant type—whether an individual, company, or foreign entity. Ensuring accurate documentation is essential for smooth processing and approval of the PAN application.

• Documents for Indian Individuals

Proof of Identity: Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, or a government-issued ID.

Proof of Address: Utility bill, Aadhaar card, Passport, Bank statement, or rent agreement.

Proof of Date of Birth: Birth certificate, Aadhaar card, Passport, or Matriculation certificate.

Photograph: Two recent passport-sized color photographs (only for paper-based application).

• Documents for Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)

Identity Proof of Karta: PAN or government-issued ID card of the HUF head (Karta).

Address Proof of Karta: Aadhaar, utility bill, or bank statement of the Karta.

Date of Birth Proof: Any valid DOB document of the Karta (same as individual).

HUF Declaration: Signed declaration by Karta stating the formation of HUF and list of coparceners.

Registration Certificate: Copy of certificate of registration issued by the Registrar of Companies.

Partnership Deed (if applicable): For firms, the registered partnership deed is required.

Address Proof: Office address proof such as utility bill, lease deed, or property documents.
