An Apex Society is the highest-level cooperative or representative body that oversees, coordinates, and supports a network of primary and secondary societies within a specific sector or region.
It acts as the central federation or umbrella body for societies working at the grassroots and intermediate levels.
Registered under the respective State Cooperative Societies Acts or Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, apex societies serve to unify and guide lower-tier societies.

2. Structure and Membership
Membership is composed of primary and secondary cooperative societies, not individual members.
It operates at the state, national, or multi-state level, depending on the scope of its member organizations.
Examples include State Cooperative Banks, National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), or State Housing Federations.
