Meaning of DPIN

• A Designated Partner Identification Number (DPIN) is a unique identification number allotted to an individual intending to become a designated partner in a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

Application Process

• The application is filed online using Form DIR-3 through the MCA portal.
  
• A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is used to sign the form electronically.
  
• Required documents must be uploaded and verified by a certifying professional (CA/CS/CMA).
  
• Upon approval, the MCA issues a permanent DPIN to the applicant.

Maintenance and Updates

• Once issued, a DPIN must be kept updated with correct personal information.
  
• Any change in personal details (e.g., name or address) must be reported through Form DIR-6.
  
• The DPIN can be deactivated if not used or in case of non-compliance.
